After a comprehensive event at Microsoft, revealing the Windows 10, there were a few raised eyebrows amongst the crowd with the giant leap Microsoft is taking with Windows 10.

- Windows 10 is going to be a true multiplatform OS, ranging from PCs, Tablets, 2in1s, Hybrids, Convertables, Consoles, Mobiles.. you name it.
- Truly developer optimized Windows 10 will allow developers to make UNIVERSAL apps where the developer has to code only ONCE and it will then be optimized automatically for each screen. This allows the app store to grow faster than ever on all Windows platforms.
- Windows 10 will be FREE FOR 1st YEAR for Windows 8, Windows 8.1 AND WINDOWS 7 users too! Microsoft also announced several upgrade numbers. About 200 million users upgraded to Windows 8.1. And around 650 million upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 7 SP1. So basically, Microsoft wants EVERYONE to use Windows 10.
- Windows 10 for PC allows you to switch to a full screen metro start menu right from the smaller one. So it is more easier to get the full screen startmenu and switch back to the traditional one. New action center introduced too.
- Cortana, as on Windows Phone is now more functional and fun to use on desktop.
- Holographic Computer (HoloLens) introduced too.
- Microsoft Surface Hub with a 4K 84" device.
- Windows 10 PC preview will come next week for Insiders. Windows 10 for Mobile Phones will come in February.
- DirectX 12 + Unity to improve gaming.
- Universal People, Music, Calendar, Photos, Office and Outlook app for Mobile and Desktop
- Intelligent Photos App keeps your photos synced across devices.
- Project Spartan, a new browser project with Cortana and notes-on-the-go ability, and reading mode. Spartan has an entirely new rendering Engine.
- New flagship coming in 2015
- Windows 10 for Phones will be called just "Windows 10"
