WhatsApp finally gets an update after it's previous venture in July. The latest update adds amazing new features into the bucket and makes the app blazing fast.

You can now share accurate locations by choosing the location you want to share. Add captions to photos and videos, and crop and rotate photos before sharing. Much anticipated individual chat backgrounds now available. You can now archive groups and chats. WhatsApp is optimised for larger screens now. It makes fonts smaller now.

But a few people have reported WhatsApp being buggy when UPDATING from previous version. It is said to hang and give a black screen. People have found that the problem can be solved by uninstalling WhatsApp and NOT restoring chats, which of course is a pain. Some have even told that moving the app to phone memory and THEN updating with restoring messages solves the problem. We will update this article when the we receive further updates regarding this bug.

Here's the change log:

  • WhatsApp now opens faster

  • Share Location: drop and drag pin lets you share a precise location

  • You can now add captions to photos and videos

  • Crop and rotate photos

  • Added ability to archive chats and groups

  • Each chat or group can now have it's own background

  • Better support for phones with high-resolution screens
