While our readers may have sensed we are pretty happy to see a new high end HTC handset released running Windows Phone, I am still a Nokia Lumia 930 owner, and have gotten tired of hearing people saying the HTC One is a lot lighter and thinner than the Nokia Lumia 930. Its just not true.
HTC One for Windows | Nokia Lumia 930 | |
Height | 146.4mm (5.76 inches) | 137 mm (5.39 inches) |
Width | 70.6 mm (2.78 inches) | 71 mm (2.8 inches) |
Thickness | 9.4 mm (0.37 inches) | 9.8 mm (0.39 inches) |
Weight | 160g (5.64 ounces) | 167g (5.89 ounces) |
As can be seen in the table above, the differences are pretty marginal, except for the height of the HTC One for Windows, which is nearly a centimetre taller, well illustrated in the to-scale graphic above.
As to the difference in weight, it amounts to 7 grams, which is around the weight of 2 US pennies. Somehow having 2 extra pennies in my pocket has never bothered me.
Not taking away from the fact that the HTC One for Windows is a very welcome addition to the Windows Phone market, it does not mean we did not have some pretty nice Windows Phones already, which are in many ways as good or even better than the HTC One.
